Who's behind The Uplift. ?

Meet Clémence, the founder. Rooted in finance. Driven by change.

Clémence Betesuku is a strategic foresight consultant specializing in sustainable finance and impact investing. She uses Causal Layered Analysis—a futures methodology—to reveal the systemic barriers that keep climate and impact capital marginal despite decades of momentum.

After working in international financial institutions (BNP Paribas, Bank of America) between Paris and Singapore (wealth management, asset management, investment banking, Inspection Générale), Clémence now works with foundations, investors, and policymakers to examine why capital doesn’t flow to transformative climate solutions, with a particular interest for emerging markets. Her analysis has been featured by Impact Entrepreneur and endorsed by UNESCO Chair in Futures Studies, Professor Sohail Inayatullah.

She has presented to the Green Economy Coalition and the UNRISD among others, facilitated workshops for Catalyst Now. She also co-founded Break The Mold, a fellowship preparing social African entrepreneurs to scale their ventures. Cohort 1 placed a fellow at TED. Cohort 2 launches in April 2026.

Clémence is also a founding member of the IIED Europe/Green Economy Coalition Youth Community of Practice on Just Transition Futures.

She brings a critical, systems-oriented perspective to climate finance conversations, challenging assumptions about what « investable » looks like and why blended finance remains underutilized.
